In anticipation of the upcoming 2026 IMACO General Assembly in Weifang, the International Mask Arts & Culture Organization (IMACO) hosted a World Mask Special Exhibition at the Weifang Museum from April 17 to May 21, 2025, in collaboration with the City of Weifang. The exhibition aimed to promote friendship and expand cultural exchange between IMACO and Weifang.
The exhibition featured a total of 402 masks from 25 countries, including 52 masks from 18 Korean mask dances designated as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It also showcased over 90 masks representing Chinese Peking Opera and various regional cultural traditions.
Key IMACO officials were invited to and attended the exhibition’s opening ceremony. The event served as a valuable opportunity to further strengthen the cooperative relationship between IMACO and the City of Weifang.
