The 2025 MBOJOAJU Workshops, designed to pass down the essence of Paraguayan folk art, will be held at the Tobatí Ancestral Knowledge School every Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., from July to December. This program is presented free of charge, with generous support from the Fundación Itaú, and offers a valuable opportunity to promote arts education and safeguard cultural heritage within the community. The workshops will be led by renowned master artisans from the city of Tobatí, Cordillera department, Néstor Portillo and Carolina Noguera. Drawing from the cultural identity and artistic traditions of their respective communities—21 de Julio and Rosado—the two maestros will each conduct specialized workshops.
○ Ñaiu (Ceramics) Workshop – Instructor: Maestra Carolina Noguera
- A hands-on pottery class teaching traditional ceramic techniques and the joy of artistic creation (Maximum 25 participants)
○ Traditional Mask Workshop – Instructor: Maestro Néstor Portillo
- A traditional mask-making class using Timbo rapo wood-carving techniques (Maximum 25 participants)
All workshops are open to participants aged 8 to 65 and aim to foster a deeper understanding of local cultural roots while sharing the educational value of artistic practice.
