In May 2025, the International Mask Arts & Culture Organization (IMACO) was invited to attend the 78th regular performance of Bongsan Talchum, designated as Korea’s National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 17. Following the performance, a roundtable meeting was held with members of the Bongsan Talchum Preservation Association, during which in-depth discussions were conducted on topics such as international cultural exchange and support for the collection of Korean masks.
In addition, representatives from other preservation associations included in the “Talchum, Mask Dance of Korea” also attended the event. The gathering provided a meaningful opportunity to discuss the potential roles that these associations could play in IMACO’s international exchange initiatives.
